Reigning Premier League champions Oldham returned from newly-promoted Leyton celebrating an emphatic 71-20 win.
The visitors were always in command. Oldham started brightly, the defence quickly pushing the Leyton attack into several errors.
The unbeaten Oldham side cruised to a 20-5 lead at the first break.
Leyton made more of an impact in the second quarter, but oldham’s advantage was still 35-12 at half-time.
Oldham introduced young shooter Helen Housby, while England under-21 international Beth Cobden replaced Taylor at wing defence.
Cobden made an immediate impact. Producing her best display so far she notched up five turnovers in the quarter as Oldham easily opened up a 51-17 lead. And there was no let up in the final quarter, with Leyton struggling to find momentum.
