James (l) and Joe Greenwood
Joe and James Greenwood are living proof of where hard work can take you.
The pair, who came through the ranks at Saddleworth Rangers, have signed three-year professional deals with Super League clubs. Prop James (20) will go to Wigan and second-row Joe (18) to St Helens.
The pair were coached at Saddleworth by dad Keith from the age of six.
Joe has already made several cameo appearances for the first team, including the last 10 minutes of the televised clash with Wigan.
James became a regular for South Wales Scorpions as part of a duel-registration agreement, before returning to his parent club in June.
Their mother Julie said: “I think the important thing is it shows what any young, aspiring rugby player can achieve.”
Julie can’t wait to see her sons in first team action — although seeing them face each other is always strange.
She added: “It is a funny feeling as we don’t know who to support.”
