Williams in line for Mossley debut

FOOTBALL:

UTILITY man Shaun Williams is pushing for his first Mossley appearance tomorrow against Garforth Town in Evo-Stik League Division One North.

The versatile left-sided player arrived at Seel Park this week from Vodkat North-West Counties League outfit Bacup Borough.

Williams, a former Manchester United youngster who has also played for FC United, Trafford, Rossendale and Hyde FC, is a product of the Fletcher Moss Rangers youth set-up.

One man who definitely won’t be involved for Steve Halford’s side is striker Gavin Salmon, who has moved to Salford City. Salmon failed to make an impact in his second spell with the Lilywhites.

Midfielder Ben Fallows has also rejoined following injuries to Ben Richardson and Keil O’Brien, and the upcoming suspensions of Dave Young and Ashley Young.



CHADDERTON can climb to fifth in the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One table if they win at home to Nelson tomorrow and other results go their way.

Paul Buckley’s men currently occupy seventh position, four places above tomorrow’s opponents.



OLDHAM Boro entertain Northwich Villa in NWCL Division One. Tony Mills’ side are a solitary point behind neighbours and rivals Chadderton, and have high hopes of defeating Villa, who are in 14th place.
