FOOTBALL:
MOSSLEY suffered a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Evo-Stik League Division One North promotion rivals Skelmersdale United last night.
The Lilywhites were dealt an early blow when player-manager Steve Halford limped off injured after 11 minutes. Two goals in quick succession from United’s Anthony Hickey (29) and Paul Woolcott (30) proved decisive.
OLDHAM Boro lost 4-1 at Trafford in the Manchester Premier Cup first round last night.
James Curley, who spurned a number of good opportunities, scored a late consolation for the visitors.
