TRY TIME . . . Hollinwood’s Pete Jackson sprints for the line.
RUGBY:
A CONVERTED try 10 minutes before time knocked Hollinwood for six in Pennine League Division Five.
Opponents Eastmoor Dragons ‘A’ dived in late on to record a 30-26 win in an exciting clash at Fields New Road.
It was tough on Hollinwood, who held a 18-4 advantage just after half-time and were seemingly on course for a first win of the season at the fifth attempt.
Both sides displayed some good, open rugby, and there was also no shortage of effort from both sets of players.
Hollinwood were in danger of being thrown out of the competition if they did not fulfil Saturday’s fixture — they had been unable to raise teams for their previous two matches.
A repeat performance on Saturday could be good enough for Hollinwood to get off the mark: they play host to Burley Lions.
