FOOTBALL:
MOSSLEY maintained their four-point lead at the top of Evo-Stik League Division One North following a 2-0 win at Salford City.
It was the perfect way for the Lilywhites to recover from the rare defeat they suffered last time out, 2-0 at Skelmersdale United.
Salford failed to trouble Mossley late on as the away team made it six wins in seven matches on the road.
TONY Mills hailed his Oldham Boro side after watching them dismantle hosts Eccleshall 7-0 in Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.
The visitors dominated from start to finish in a comprehensive display - including four goals from striker James Curley.
Mills said: “We produced a brilliant first half performance and never looked back, Eccleshall couldn’t cope with us.
“The passing was great at times and the run continues — that is five league games unbeaten now.”
Mills added: “It is the sort of result which can set you up for a successful season and we hope to keep the momentum going.”
CHADDERTON progressed to the second round of the Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One Trophy courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Leek CSOB.
