OLDHAM rallied to great effect in the second half, but a poor first period left them with too much to do in this North Lancashire Division One fixture.
The visitors from Liverpool went ahead in the seventh minute and continued to dominate, chalking up 22 points by half time..
Oldham coach Guy Lovgreen must have made some telling remarks during his half-time talk as his team came out fired up.
Oldham finally crossed the line when Josh Brown charged down and followed up with a conversion.
Ryan North came on and made some terrific runs, one of which produced a try following good work by Dave Roscoe and Gareth Barber.
Saints were on the back foot, but the Oldham comeback had started too late.
