Hamerton shares opener

GOLF:

GRANT Hamerton shared the spoils in the opening PGA North Region Mansell Finishes Winter Series at St Anne’s Old Links.

The Brookdale assistant was in a three-way tie with James Hopley (Moorend) and former PGA Cup player Andrew Barnett, from North Wales Golf Range. The trio carded four-under-par rounds of 66 in the long-running pro-am.



DANNY Guerriero registered a clear-cut victory in the Mountain Ash at Saddleworth, a major

competition at the club.

Rounds of 71 and 66 for a 137 total saw Guerriero finish three shots ahead of Gary Torr’s good effort 71 and 69 (140).
