White’s night at the palace
Date published: 24 October 2012
OLDHAM’S Nicola White was among Great Britain's Olympians celebrated at a glittering Buckingham Palace reception hosted by the Queen last night.
The 24-year-old former Hulme Grammar School pupil was a member of the women's hockey team that clinched the bronze medal.
White took to Twitter afterwards and said: ‘We loved it, I am still on cloud nine. It was just amazing to meet the Royals — I wish we could have stayed all night.”
The athletes arrived in their official Team GB suits and were greeted by the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Duchess of Cambridge.
