All eyes on derby

UPPERMILL’S perfect start is on the line tomorrow in the derby clash with Diggle in Huddersfield and District League Division One (2.15pm kick-off).
With seven wins from as many games, Uppermill go into the match at Greenfield Paper Mill as favourites. Their form has been superb, despite having to play ‘home’ fixtures at Marsden due to problems with the surface at Churchill playing fields.
Uppermill won 2-0 at Lepton Highlanders, Chris Moores and Andrew Pheby were on the mark.
Heyside progressed to the second round of the Huddersfield FA Challenge Cup after beating Shelley 3-2.
Carl Taylor (two) and James Taylor scored.
AN eighth victory in nine outings kept AFC Oldham’s unbeaten run intact, with hosts Cadley the victims of a 7-0 thumping in Lancashire Amateur League Division Two.
Gareth Hill opened the scoring and Martyn Tayo bagged a quickfire brace.
In the second half Alex Shepherd, Steven Delafield and Jordan Schofield netted before skipper Danny Proffitt sturck twice for the Maroons.
In the Premier Division, Failsworth Dynamos thumped Hindley 11-4.
But Chaddertonians were beaten 7-2 at home by Horwich Victoria.
