Chadderton hit by loss of key pair

FOOTBALL:
CHADDERTON have been dealt a double blow ahead of tomorrow’s Vodkat North-West Counties League Challenge Cup second-round trip to Winsford United.
Highly-rated goalkeeper Dale Latham and midfield man Joe Jacombs have both left the club to join Droylsden.
Latham won the NWCL goalkeeper of the month award in September.
Chadderton boss Paul Buckley was disappointed to lose the key pair, who followed midfielder Tom Hughes out of the door, but wished them well.
“It is a shame because Dale and Joe were integral parts of the group, and having a solid, reliable goalkeeper is particularly crucial,” he said.
“They both played very well against Droylsden recently, which must have brought them to the club’s attention. We wish them all the best for the future.”
OLDHAM Boro entertain Ashton Town tomorrow in NWCL Division One, looking to extend their unbeaten run to six matches.
Last time they won 7-0 at Eccleshall, with striker James Curley scoring four times.
Tom Hughes is set to make his debut at the heart of midfield following his switch from Chadderton, while skipper Andy Smith returns to defence.
IN-FORM Mossley will strive to increase their six-point lead at the top of Evo-Stik League Division One North when they welcome Lancaster City to Seel Park tomorrow.
Right-back Chris Brown is pushing for his second start for the Lilywhites.
The 6ft 5in defender joined from Droylsden, a former club of Mossley player-manager Steve Halford.
