MOSSLEY moved eight points clear at the top of Evo-Stik League Division One North following a 2-0 triumph over Lancaster City at Seel Park.
In-form Kayde Coppin broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half, capping a superb counter-attack.
Steve Halford's men created a number of chances but couldn’t find their killer second goal until the 78th minute.
Adam Mather's effort was too hot to handle and rebounded to prolific forward Sam Madeley, who scored from close range.
Halford said: "We started with a good tempo, which was important because our home form has not been as impressive as performances away.
"I am particularly happy with the clean sheet, our third in four matches, and the fact we have claimed three points at home. A lot of our rivals rely on one player to score, but everyone is chipping in for us."
JORDAN Dainty's clinical finish with half-an-hour on the clock earned a 1-0 win for Oldham Boro over Ashton Town in Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One.
Dainty latched on to a loose ball and hammered home for Tony Mills' men, who climbed to sixth in the table. In-form Boro are now unbeaten in six league outings.
CHADDERTON crashed out of the NWCL Cup after a second round loss at Winsford United.
The hosts gained a psychological advantage when Lee Duckworth netted on the stroke of half-time.
And Paul Buckley's side were dealt another blow just after the restart when Callum Gardner doubled United's advantage.
