Oldham falter after early lift

BOLTON 21, OLDHAM RUFC 12
OLDHAM played as individuals rather than as a team in a North Lancashire Division One defeat at Bolton.
The visitors broke the deadlock when a kick fell into the hands of Gareth Barber, who fed it to Gavin Dodd.
A neat pass made its way to Joe Hesse, who crashed over. Josh Brown converted.
The hosts restored parity when Bruce Pritchard broke through some poor Oldham tackles to score under the posts, and he also converted. This was followed by a Pritchard penalty, which made it 10-7.
After the restart, the home outfit increased their lead but Barber restored some pride for Guy Lovgreen’s team, scoring out wide after Dodd’s chip.
Brown missed the conversion and he and Pritchard both spurned penalty kicks at goal in the last 15 minutes.
