Crisis meeting

BOWLS:
AN emergency meeting to try to resolve the crisis in the Greater Manchester Bowling Association will be held at Chadderton Cot on Sunday (11am).
Unless volunteers come forward to fill key positions, the Association will fold.
Matches continue in the Inbev Winter Bowling League at the same venue. Tomorrow (‘B’ Division): Dogwood v Wanderers at 9.45am; Shaw Comrades v Springhead at noon; Vixens v Prestwich at 2.15pm.
Sunday (‘A’ Division): Hopwood v Waterloo and Taunton at 9.45am; New Street v Springbank at noon; Failsworth v Nimble Nook at 2.15pm.
THE Chadderton Bowling League presentation will be held at Stanley Road Conservative Club tonight. Doors open at 7.30pm and no tickets are required. Correspondence to David Moore at djmem1@ntlworld.com
PAUL Leah won the first winter competition at Ashton Cricket Club, beating Matt Jones 21-17 in the final.
In the semi-finals, Leah defeated Dave Hughes 21-12 while Jones overcame Ian Bardsley 21-8.
A pairs competition will be held on Sunday (10.30am). Register before this time, partners to be drawn out.
