ENGLAND DUTY: Andrew Hall will travel to Finland in May.
IT’S all go at Shaw Karate Club. Andrew Hall’s dazzling displays have earned him a place in the Shukokai Karate Federation England squad.
He will battle it out in the Kimura Shukokai International European Open Championships in Finland between May 9 and 12, 2013.
Hall follows in the footsteps of his instructor, Keith Cockburn, by representing his country on the international stage.
Anyone interested in sponsoring Hall can contact Cockburn through the club website www.shawkarate.co.uk
Cockburn and fellow sensei Denise Robinson ran a self-defence course in aid of Louie Joyce (16), who is preparing for a Duke of Edinburgh residential placement in Borneo. The course raised £840 for Louie’s expedition.
Elsewhere, members impressed in the Kimura Cup National Championships.
Of the 14 Shaw competitors involved, Luke Walster, Bradley Jordan, Bethanie Jardine and Alex Nealon won medals.
