TABLE TENNIS: WERNETH ‘B’ are off the mark in Division One of the Oldham Table Tennis League thanks to a 7-3 defeat of Unison ‘A’.
Larry Bainbridge took all of Unison’s points, but two wins each for David Cheetham, Karen Hill and Mick Pellowe saw Werneth break their duck.
Saddleworth ‘A’ maintained the heat on Glodwick ‘A’ at the top of the table after overcoming BAE 6-4 at home.
Tony Bates and Tom Lang put BAE 2-0 ahead, but an unbeaten display from Darren Lindley steered Saddleworth to their sixth win from as many matches.
