NICK Fitzpatrick scored his first goal for Springhead AFC, who came from behind twice to record a seventh straight win in all competitions.

The Ashfield Crescent outfit’s latest victims were Wythenshawe Town in a 4-2 scoreline.

It was a hard-fought Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester League Premier Division clash, although Springhead should have been out of sight in the opening 20 after creating numerous chances.

Adam Nuttall (twice), Paul Stevenson and Richard Bennett all saw attempts cleared off the line as Town hung on.

Springhead were made to pay for their profligacy in front of goal as a defensive lapse allowed Wythenshawe to score.

The hosts were level five minutes later when Nuttall nodded home, only for Wythenshawe edge back ahead.

The game was all-square again by half-time. Bennett was brought down by the ’keeper and Stevenson made no mistake from the penalty spot for his 11th goal of the season.

There was little in the second half, until Wythenshawe had a glorious chance to retake the lead in the 70th minute.

Stand-in ’keeper Brandon Adams upended a Town forward, but he made amends with a superb stop from the spot kick.

This spurred Springhead into action, and moments later Fitzpatrick beat two players befoe slotting home.

Substitute Josh Walker sealed victory two minutes from time when he converted Bennett’s cross.
