Seven-up Lilywhites so ruthless

MOSSLEY maintained their eight-point lead at the summit of Evo-Stik League Division One North after demolishing basement boys Garforth Town 7-0.
The Lilywhites nearly found themselves a goal down within 30 seconds, with Kiel O’Brien pulling off a face-saving tackle to deny Dom Blair.
Perhaps it was the rude awakening Steve Halford’s men required, as they went on to control the game.
Sam Madeley broke the deadlock with seven minutes on the clock, latching on to Adam Mather’s floated delivery.
After 20 minutes the home outfit doubled their lead, Kayde Coppin tricking his way into a shooting position and making no mistake.
Madeley had an effort ruled out for offside before departing on a stretcher with an ankle injury, in what was the only negative for his side. He will be absent for a month.
Jay Gorton added a third goal before the break when he got on the end of Ash Young’s cross.
Five minutes into the second period Shaun Williams opened his Mossley account, curling home after Coppin’s pinpoint pass.
Dave Young put his side out of sight with a fifth goal when he combined with Mather before picking his spot.
Gorton twice went close to improving his own tally prior to substitute Brad Yearwood pouncing on a loose ball and prodding home with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining.
And with time running out Young made it a magnificent seven when he converted Young’s low cross.
