BOWLS:
WATERLOO and Taunton already have a hand on the Inbev Winter Bowling League ‘A’ Division title following a 9-2 victory over nearest rivals Springbank Dogs.
Only Jimmy Hynes and Tommy Taylor managed wins for Springbank although, to be fair, there were a number of close games which could have gone the other way.
Hopwood’s revival continued with a 10-1 demolition of Nimble Nook, a result matched by New Street against Failsworth.
In the ‘B’ Division, there were wins for champions elect Springhead (11-0), Vixens (8-3) and Prestwich (6.5-4.5).
LEN Stewart won the latest Ashton CC winter bowling competition, beating Chris Eaton 21-10 in the final.
In the semi-finals, Stewart defeated Geoff Moxon 21-6 and Eaton overcame Ian Bardsley 21-11.
The consolation final was won by Lynn Crossley, who beat Tony Brooks 15-4.
