OLDHAM surged eight points clear at the top of the Lancashire GMC Super Eights Elite League with a 6-4 win at reigning champions Rochdale.
John Downs drew first blood for the visitors, averaging 74.14 for every three darts in a narrow 4-3 victory.
Rochdale levelled things by claiming match two, but Oldham were soon back in charge thanks to Ian Walters and man of the match Stuart Holden.
Walters checked out on 130 and 115 in a decisive 4-1 success — he averaged 86.09 — and Holden posted superb finishes of 145 and 98 (85.03 ave) in a 4-2 win.
