RUGBY:
HIGGINSHAW gave bottom club Thatto Heath Crusaders a 16-0 start before hitting back to win 42-26.
But they were left to count the cost of victory in this bruising North-West Counties League encounter.
A brawl saw Higgy’s Jonny Kelly sustain a fractured cheekbone and require four stitches in a head wound. Team-mate Jordan White is also went off with a broken hand.
Jonny Fullalove was again outstanding with the boot, repeating his seven goals from seven attempts from the previous week.
The visitors played some of the best rugby of the season so far to blow away Thatto with two cracking tries from young centre Laurence Girvan.
