CONRAD Taylor made it two wins on the spin after prevailing in the Medlock Bridge AC open match on the Park Lake.

From peg one, he used pole and maggot to secure an 8lb 15oz net which included a few roach and the odd skimmer.

Billy Brierley was a close second — maggot was the telling bait with 7lb 5oz of chub, roach and perch.

THERE were some impressive scores in the Socials AC fur and feather contest on Tyle Lodge despite freezing cold, wet and windy conditions.

Steve Mills took top spot courtesy of 29lb 12oz of bream and carp. Larry Hazeldine’s bream and roach, falling to long pole and maggot, added up to 19lb 10oz and runners-up spot.

TRI-CAST Highfield emerged victorious in the final fixture of the Lancashire Winter League, ensuring they retained the title and qualified for the Angling Trust semi-finals.

Contested on High Heyes Fishery, they boasted three of the top four individuals in the match to claim a 15-point win on the day and deny Burscough.

Finishing at the summit with nine points, Tri-Cast restricted High Heyes Black (13) to the runners-up berth, while Burscough (14) were third.

STEVE Allinson won the Slaithwaite AS match on Hilltop Reservoir.

With pole and feeder, he plundered roach and skimmers weighing 7lb 10oz.

Keith Marshall and Colin Smith shared second position with a return of 5lb 12oz with a tip and pole method.

Medlock Bridge AC are offering a senior membership until April, 2013 for £15, with £10 concessions. Day tickets are £3 and juniors cost £2.

TODMORDEN AS have some new people on the committee — child protection officer Natalie Andrew, ticket secretary Paul Wilkinson and chairman John Mellor.
