Rifle target race for top after beating leaders

LEADERS Coppice United ‘A’ went down to a 5-4 defeat at the hands of third-placed Rifle Range ‘A’ in Midas Plumbing Oldham Sunday League Jack Abbott Premier Division.
Nathan Eastmond was in inspired form for Rifle. He scored a hat-trick alongside strikes from Ryan Fagan and John Munson.
Danny O’Connell and Steve Barrow scored two goals apiece for Coppice, who are a solitary point clear of second-placed Limeside King George.
Rifle have two games in hand on the top dogs, and trail them by three points.
HEYSIDE reached the semi-finals of the Manchester FA Challenge Trophy courtesy of a 4-1 triumph over Irlam Steel.
Leon Perry and James Taylor bagged first half efforts to put Heyside in charge, before their opponents pulled back a goal 10 minutes after the break.
But goals from Michael Ward and Carl Taylor secured a last-four spot.
