Jewitt too hot to handle

RUGBY:
HIGGINSHAW maintained their push for the North-West Counties League title with a 38-6 defeat of Widnes Moorfield.
It was solid display from Higgy, for whom Nathan Jewitt proved too hot to handle with a hat-trick of tries and caused problems with every touch of the ball.
The hosts stormed out of the blocks, scoring a try after five minutes. Jonny Kelly burst through a gap, ran 40 yards and released the supporting Jonny Fullalove, who touched down. Fullalove added the conversion.
A sparkling move moments later saw Jordan White, Jewitt and Carl Fields combine to send in Steve Perry for a 10 –0 lead.
Moorfield threatened to hit back, but Higgy held firm.
Higgy carried on where they left off in the second half, with Jewitt doubling his personal tally two minutes after the restart. Fullalove kicked the conversion.
With the points in the bag, Bell finished things off when he collected a pass from Jewitt.
Fullalove, who kicked well all day, sent the ball through the posts from the left touchline.
