SNOOKER:
MARTIN Merrington, of Stanley Road ‘A’, has showed why he is one of the most feared and respected players in the Oldham Amateur Snooker League.
Conceding 55 start to Paul Harvey (Deaf Social), he made breaks of 52 and 37 in the third frame as Stanley Road whitewashed their hosts.
Moss Inn ‘B’ were also in a whitewashing mood, putting last season’s league champions, North Chadderton ‘B’, to the sword with a fine display.
Meanwhile, Reece Kershaw’s break of 47 was the highlight for Blue Club ‘A’ in their 4-2 defeat at Chadderton Reform.
CRICKET and Moss Inn, the top two teams in the Saw-Tech Shaw Snooker League, shared the spoils.
Comrades ‘B’ and Tara ‘A’ are right on their tails, while Tara ‘B’ narrowed the gap after after beating their ‘A’ team 4-2 with P Lever and W Timperley producing 32 breaks.
