Twist in the tale at Partridge

Angling: ICE caused several fishieries to cancel matches — but Partridge managed to beat the freeze.
It proved a mixed bag with several dry nets and some decent weights.
Aidy Twist, of Tri-Cast Highfield, claimed victory thanks to a 20lb 13oz net using bread punch over liquidised bread.
He was followed by Daz Shaw (Maver), who had 9lb 8oz on maggot.
THE Todmordan AS pairs match on the Lorry park, Gordon Riggs and Castleton lengths of the Rochdale Canal and was rock-hard.
More half of the field, including yours truly, drew a blank.
But Trabrucco Halifax team-mate Stuart Campbell put in a cracking display on the Lorry park length. He doubled the next angler’s weight courtesy of a 2lb bream, 1lb skimmer and plenty of small roach on bread punch at six and eight metres for 6lb 8oz.
Derek Bowers (Drennan NW) was in second place on the next peg with 3lb 4oz.
LEES and Hey AS are holding their annual meeting at the Lees and Hey Club on Sunday, February 3 (12.30pm). New members are welcome.

The club has chosen some fish-filled venues which should throw up some big weights.
WHILE the cold snap had some anglers complaining, I was nice and snug thanks to my latest purchase, a Preston Innovations Celcius two-piece suit — the warmest bit of kit I have ever worn.
They are £130, but I’m sure local tackle dealers will knock off a few quid.
