Bulldogs, Higgy eye last-four spot

RUGBY: THE curtain goes up on the 2013 Standard Cup this weekend.
Fitton Hill Bulldogs and Higginshaw get the knock-out competition underway on Sunday at Fields New Road. Kick-off 2pm.
Holders Rochdale Mayfield are in action on Saturday, February 9. They play Oldham St Anne’s at Castleton (2pm).
On the same afternoon, Emerson Jackman’s Saddleworth Rangers side visit Folly Lane (2pm).
A date for the remaining tie between Hollinwood and Waterhead is still be arranged.
The draw for the last four will take place at the Oldham Amateur League meeting on Wednesday, February 13.
With the new National Conference League season starting early March, organisers hope to play the semi-finals before the end of next month.
The final is on Easter Monday, April 1, at Oldham RU’s Manor Park ground.
As a prequel to the main event, the Oldham Amateur League are looking to set up a Masters game.
Details have yet to finalised.
