FOOTBALL:
SAM Madeley got the vital goal as Mossley defeated Maine Road 1-0 in the last four of the Manchester Premier Cup at Seel Park last night.
The Lilywhites were only able to call on 13 players: half-a-dozen from Saturday’s defeat by Skelmersdale United were missing. But that didn’t stop them reaching their second consecutive final in the competition.
Madeley struck in the 29th minute with a superb solo effort.
Mossley will meet Salford City, 1-0 winners over Droylsden last night, in the final at Stockport County’s Edgeley Park ground on March 27.
