Springhead run ends

FOOTBALL: SPRINGHEAD suffered their first defeat in 14 games after losing 3-2 at high-flying Walshaw Sports in Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester League Premier Division.
It signalled the end of a superb run of form and results for Lee McAllister’s team, who have been one of the division’s most consistent teams this season.
The hosts scored an early penalty after the ball bounced up and hit Ryan Bailey on the arm.
Springhead responded brightly. With half-an-hour on the clock the away outfit equalised, Stevenson prodding home.
An hour into the contest Springhead took the lead courtesy of an own goal, and looked well on track to continue their amazing sequence .
But five minutes later McAllister’s men came down to earth with a bump.
Walshaw dug out an equaliser with a controversial second penalty.
A fine finish with 15 minutes remaining sealed all three points for Walshaw.
