Mossley let it slip twice

FOOTBALL:
MOSSLEY lost further ground in the Evo-Stik League Division One North title race following a 2-2 draw at home to Wakefield.
The Lilywhites were left to rue missed chances and slipped to third in the table, four points behind leaders Skelmersdale United, who have played five games fewer.
The hosts went in front after 20 minutes when Danny Broadbent laid off Jay Gorton's delivery to striker Sam Madeley, whose superb scissor kick flew past goalkeeper Neil Bennett.
Three minutes before the interval, the visitors restored parity against the run of play.
Mossley regained their lead within a minute. Adam Mather's low ball was prodded home by Madeley to ensure Steve Halford's men led at the break.
With eight minutes left Wakefield grabbed a second equaliser when Henson curled in from 15 yards.
OLDHAM Boro enjoyed a 3-1 home triumph over Leek CSOB in Vodkat North-West Counties League Division One. Dan Cope put Leek in the lead within the first two minutes of the contest.
But striker James Curley and midfield man Joe Heap struck either side of the hour mark, and utility man Danny Laffery made sure of the win in the dying seconds.
CHADDERTON remain in ninth position in NWCL Division One following a 1-1 draw at home to Irlam.
Ryan Fagan went close early on with a direct free-kick which went just over the crossbar, and Jon-Paul Lewis saw a decent header saved. Lewis also had an effort ruled out for an infringement.
Irlam drew first blood after the interval through Ryan Hutchinson, who put away a penalty.
But with seven minutes left, Paul Buckley's men were all-square. Chris Pauley found John Rogers, who drove the ball home.
