FOOTBALL: RIFLE Range ‘A’ kept alive their dreams of doing the double after beating Summit Inn 4-1 in the Midas Plumbing Oldham Sunday League Challenge Cup third round.

Dale Jackman helped himself to a hat-trick for Rifle, who are also top of the Jack Abbott Premier Division.

Ryan Fagan was also on the mark, while Kyle Winterbottom notched a consolation goal for Summit.

Limeside King George eased past Carrion Crow 8-0, with former Mossley midfielder Joe Heap hitting a treble and Wayne Taylor bagging a brace. Also on target were Martin Gurr, Chris Robinson and Liam Cashmore.

Legends Bar squeezed past Crompton Victoria with a 4-3 win, Gareth Morris at the double and Chris Pauley and Leighton Stephenson also getting in on the act.

John Ryder twice replied for Crompton Victoria, for whom Danny Tindall also struck.

Goals from Graham Asplin and Tom Evans earned Limeside Gardeners Rest ‘A’ a 2-0 defeat of Coppice United ‘B’.

Niall Sultan’s two-goal salvo helped Failsworth Athletic to a 3-1 triumph over Dog and Duck, with Grant Shenton putting the icing on the cake.

And Fitton Hill Rangers thumped Springhead Libs ‘A’ 9-2 following an Ashley Ainsworth hat-trick and two goals apiece from Paul Badby, Darren Scanlon and Danny Hitchens.

Chris Riley pounced twice for Springhead Libs ‘A’.

Top-flight action saw second-placed Coppice United ‘A’ slip to a surprise 4-0 loss at the hands of Oddies Athletic.


MIDAS Plumbing Oldham Sunday League club Famous King George has been suspended from all football with immediate effect.
Famous King George 'A' in the Jack Abbott Premier Division and Division Three side Famous King George 'B' will not be allowed to play games unless they clear debts with Manchester County FA and Oldham Council and clearance is given by the league. No-one at the club was available for comment
