FAN CLUB: Manchester United and England midfielder Michael Carrick is surrounded by star-struck pupils.
FOOTBALL: IT’S not every day an England international pops in for a kickabout.
So St Martin’s Primary School pupils could hardly believe their luck when Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick arrived to pass on wisdom gathered in a glittering career.
The Salvation Army’s Eden project, based at Fitton Hill, arranged for the 31-year-old star to spend time with beaming pupils so they could pick up some life lessons — not to mention a few silky moves — from a role model.
Carrick, a European Cup winner with Sir Alex Ferguson’s Red Devils and proud holder of 26 England caps, was more than happy to answer questions and pose for pictures.
