Hulmeians grind out victory
Date published: 01 March 2013
FOOTBALL: Oldham Hulmeians still top Division Two in the Lancashire Amatuer League by three points after they got the better of local rivals Chaddertonians reserves 3-1.
Oldham took the lead courtesy of a goal from ex-Chaddertonian Jordan Scholes who, after rounding the goalkeeper, slid the ball home.
Hulmeians went further ahead in the 60th minute when skipper Danny Proffitt smashed home a fantastic 20-yard volley after good work from Danny Pauley and Steven Delafield.
The home side pulled a goal back, before Oldham sealed their sixth victory on the bounce with another fantastic strike, again from Scholes.
