Hat-trick pairing help Town sink Beechfield

FOOTBALL: YOUNGSTERS Carl Caffrey and Josh Staniforth helped themselves to hat-tricks as Royton Town demolished lowly Beechfield United 6-0 in the Bridgewater Office Supplies Manchester League Premier Division.
It proved to be a bad day at the office for Springhead, who remain in mid-table after succumbing 3-0 at home against East Manchester. A tough trip to top-of-the-table Hindsford awaits Springhead tomorrow.
Avro remain in fourth place in the table despite their 3-0 loss at mid-table Wythenshawe Amateurs.
In the First Division, Hollinwood were on the wrong end of an 8-3 hiding at home to high-flying Pennington.
THE shock of the day in the Premier Division was high-flying AFC Oldham losing out 3-2 at home to lowly Strets, a result which once again shows the uncertainty created by so many teams still in contention.
But with Cheadle Hulme Villa not playing and Newton making no mistakes against bottom club South, the table is now headed by Rochdalians after they took the point away at Ashtonians after their 3-2 win.
Santos edged through to the next round of the Rhodes Cup after seeing off Droylsden in a penalty shoot-out.
