Oldham's sights on unbeaten tag

NETBALL: OLDHAM Netball Club are determined to see out the 2012-13 Premier League One season unbeaten.
The high-flyers sit seven points clear at the top after a 60-35 demolition of Viper 10 Blades at Hathershaw Sports College.
It was the club’s 14th win from as many league games, and it was never in doubt.
After a scrappy opening quarter which saw Oldham build-up a 14-11 lead, the hosts returned to the court with a few stern words from coach Debbie Hallas ringing in their ears.
And the instructions clearly got through as the defence of Georgie Webster and Sarah Carter stepped up a gear.
Shooters Krista Enziano and Alice Travis also found their range and by half-time Oldham had increased their advantage by seven points (29-19).
The strength and depth of the squad this season has been key to Oldham’s success, and again this proved to be the case.
Changes were made with the introduction of in-form shooter Kathryn Turner and centre Beth Cobden as home side dominated the third quarter and limited the Blades to just five points while adding 16 to their total.
Captain Rachel Henry and Turner, especially, were adept at making plenty of early interceptions.
The lead was 45-24 going into the final quarter, but there was no let-up from Oldham.
There were periods of sloppy play, but also some flashes of excellence and speed through court as clinched a comprehensive victory.
