Trophy triumph for King George

OLDHAM SUNDAY LEAGUE
FAMOUS King George ‘A’ marched convincingly through to the semi-finals of the Midas Plumbing Oldham Sunday League President’s Trophy as they saw off Legends Bar 3-1.
Ryan Shaughnessy, Daniel Jackson and Damien Schofield netted for King George, while John McCallister replied.
Rifle Range ‘A’ are also through to the last four after edging past Oldham GPO 2-1. Nathan Eastmond bagged both Range’s goals, with Mike King replying.
In the Jack Abbott Premier Division, Coppice United and Fitton Hill drew 1-1 with S Barrow scoring for the hosts and D Scanlon hitting back for Fitton Hill.
Crompton House Old Boys crushed Oddies Athletic 8-2. Scott Rowbottom (two), Brian Lord (two), Dean Brown, Gareth Hill, Leon Perry and Tom Stansfield were on target.
Athletic’s scorers were Nathan Dawson and Kieron Holt.
In David Giblin Division One, Failsworth Athletic and Limeside Gardeners Rest ‘A’ drew 2-2.
Niall Sultan scored twice for Athletic, with John Evans and Jordan Fitzpatrick hitting back for Gardeners.
Anglers Arms enjoyed a thumping 6-0 win at Manchester Swifts thanks to Paul Naylor (two), Scott Holt, Danny Broome, Andrew Rawlinson and Joe Brannan scored.
FC Dynamos had L Mack at the double in their 4-2 win at Rifle Range ‘B’, for whom N Barker bagged a couple.
Kenyon got the better of Springhead Libs ‘A’ 7-4.
Kieron Milne and James Kay scored braces for Kenyon, while Mike Cooper, Chris McNally and an unfortunate own goal completed their tally.
Karl Farrell struck twice for the Libs.
