Ice-cool Smith clinches draw

SNOOKER:

MOSS Inn ‘B’ shared the spoils with Stanley Road ‘B’ in the Oldham Amateur Snooker League, thanks to the calming influence of M Smith in the final frame.

The match finished all-square at 3-3 after Smith, of Moss, held his nerve with a fine break of 46.

Meanwhile, breaks of 33 from A Gartside and 32 from D Smith secured a 5-1 win for title hopefuls Blue Club ‘B’ over Three Cs ‘A’.

The victors, who returned to the top of the table courtesy of the result, were denied the whitewash by Josh Cooper, who recorded a break of 32 against MJ Smith in frame two.

North Chadd ‘A’, in second place, were held to a 3-3 by lowly CBC and have played a game more than the high-flyers.
