RUGBY: OLDHAM St Anne’s coach Chris Deakin has warned his players of an Ovenden backlash in National Conference League Division Two tomorrow (2.30pm).
The hosts, from Halifax, have lost their opening two games of the season, while Saints are on a high after beating Castleford Panthers 20-0 last week.
“There is a buzz about the club,” said Deakin, who has Mick Wallace fit and Carl Fields back from suspension.
“I watched Ovenden in midweek against Stanningley and they’ve got four or five ex-pros in the side with good hands. They lost that game and their opener as well, which means they’ll want to make amends.”
In NCL Division One, SADDLEWORTH Rangers will look to kick-start their campaign after two defeats when they welcome East Leeds to Shaw Hall Bank Road (2.30pm).
WATERHEAD, meanwhile, make the trip to Oulton Raiders, with coach Andy Sands looking to follow-up victory over Eccles.
FITTON Hill are away to Westhoughton in North-West Men’s League Division Four tomorrow (2.30pm).
