MAKING PROGRESS...Diggle’s Matt Taylor scores.
Diggle 3, Holmbridge 1
FOOTBALL: DIGGLE made it four games unbeaten in the First Division of the Huddersfield and District League following a comfortable victory over Holmbridge at Snipe Clough.
A 3-0 lead at the interval proved too much for the visitors to claw back. It was a win made all the more satisfying because of the unavailability of nine first-team regulars because of injuries and work commitments.
Diggle player-manager Richard Devy said: "It was a really good three points considering the number of players missing.
"The aim for us at the start of the season was to finish in the top four and with games in hand on the teams above us we are still very much on course."
Devy's men still have an interest in the Huddersfield FA Cup, travelling to play Huddersfield YMCA from the West Riding League First Division in the last-eight stage tomorrow.
