WERNETH member Gareth Hey is counting down the days to a 12-month stint at the largest golf club in the world.
The 21-year-old is one of seven students from a BA Golf Management programme to have won internships at Mission Hills Resort in Shenzhen, China.
Gareth, who attended Radclyffe School and later Oldham College, heads to the far east on April 10.
The new intern programme at Mission Hills will enable students to gain experience of working in the golf industry.
Gareth is in his third year at the University of the Highlands and Islands in Dornoch, Scotland.
Originally offered a job at Mission Hills, he preferred to carry on with studies and accepted an internship.
Mission Hills has 12 full-size courses and spans 20 square kilometres, with two club houses and a country club offering restaurants and lounges, leisure and sports facilities.
