Dynamos target cup final glory

FOOTBALL: FAILSWORTH Dynamos will bid to secure Manchester Saturday Amateur Cup glory tonight when they take on Ardwick Reserves in the final at the athletics track next to Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.
Dynamos, from the Lancashire Amateur League top flight, go head-to-head with Lancashire and Cheshire League outfit Ardwick after battling through six matches to reach the showpiece final.
Dynamos beat Manchester Leaguers Hollinwood in the last four, after losing out at that stage in the last two seasons.
Tonight’s match kicks-off at 7pm, and entrance will cost £2 for adults. Children enter free.
Last weekend Dynamos - who still harbour hopes of a late title charge - drew their Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division clash 2-2 at Castle Hill.
Chaddertonians lost 3-1 at Rossendale Amateurs.
In Division Two, Oldham Hulmeians went goal crazy as they thumped a stunned Stand outfit 9-2.
HEYSIDE Reserves made it through to the Huddersfield FA Challenge Trophy semi-finals thanks to an impressive 5-3 win against Shepley Reserves.
An evenly-contested first period saw the teams go in at 2-2.
But three Heyside goals inside the opening 10 minutes of the second half saw the hosts sieze the initiative.
Diggle also marched into the last four of the Challenge Trophy thanks to an impressive 3-2 win at West Riding League outfit YMCA.
In Division Four, 3D Dynamos got the better of Catworth Moor 4-1, but there was a defeat for Moorside, 5-2 at Aimbry.
