FOOTBALL: LIMESIDE King George boasted six different goalscorers as they cruised past Oddies Athletic 6-0 in the Midas Plumbing Oldham Sunday League Jack Abbott Premier Division Shield quarter-final.
On target were W Ware, L Cashmore, J Heap, W Buckley, A Stafford and D Hendry.
In the David Giblin Division One Shield last eight, FC Dynamos won 5-2 at Rifle Range ‘B’ as Luke Mack struck a four-timer and Chris Deville also netted. N Barker bagged both Range’s goals.
Failsworth Athletic triumphed 7-0 at home against Springhead Libs ‘A’.
Ryan Lyons netted a hat-trick, while Ben Turnbull (two), Niall Sultan and Jordan Wood completed the tally.
Willow Tavern beat Limeside Gardeners Rest ‘A’ 6-3, with Nik Lishman (four), John Linforth and Anthony Stott registering. Coby Tyrell, Dale Heathcote and Shaun Renshaw struck back for Gardeners.
Coppice United ‘B’ edged through to the last four of the Martin Buckley Division Two Shield thanks to a 2-1 win against Springhead Libs ‘B’. Zahid Yaqup and Fesal Khaliq scored for United.
Carrion Crow beat Old Grey Mare 5-3 after extra-time as Kevin Knowles, Calum Beckett, Daniel Fitzhugh, Lee Kerwin and Tony Lloyd were on target.
Summit cruised past Westwood FC 7-2 as Shaun Hill and Rhys McKimm both notched doubles.
Also on target were Darren Longden, Kyle Winterbottom and Michael Omara.
Dog and Duck secured a fine 3-0 win at Crompton Victoria in the Division Three Shield semi-final.
Dominic Hallum (two) and Malcolm Christie scored.
Famous King George ‘B’ got the better of Limeside Gardeners Rest ‘B’ as S Dunthorne and D Lawrence pounced.
The only Jack Abbott Premier Division game played saw Crompton House Old Boys prevail 4-2 at Red Star. B Lord (two), D Brown and C Caffrey scored for the Old Boys, with R Hobin’s brace replying.
Two goals apiece from Mike King and Michael Wood helped Oldham GPO to a 4-0 David Giblin Division One win at The Kenyon.
In Division Three, Rob Flynn nailed an amazing six-goal haul as Junction crushed Oldham FC 10-0.
Rifle Range ‘C’ beat Abbey Inn 5-2 as Josh Thompson bagged two.
AFC Oldham kept in touch with the Lancashire and Cheshire League Premier Division’s top two - Spurley Hey and Rochdalians - as they won 5-1 at Chorltonians.
In Division Two action, injury-hit Moorside Rangers were beaten 2-0 at home by promotion hopefuls Boothstown.
Spurley Hey seconds closed down the gap on non-playing Division Three leaders Bury Amateurs to four points with two games in hand as they cruised to a 7-2 win at Oldham Victoria.
In Division ‘D’ there were plenty of goals as Milton thirds beat AFC Oldham seconds 5-3.
In Division ‘E’ Chorltonians fifths had Jimmy Salmon, Niko Brown and Dorian Davies providing the goals in a 3-1 win at AFC Oldham thirds.
