Lancashire returns to Saints fold

RUGBY: KIEL Lancashire is back playing in the colours of Oldham St Anne’s and is in the 13 for tomorrow’s National Conference League clash at home to Leigh East.

The half-back, who started the season at Saddleworth Rangers, completed the formalities on a return to Higginshaw Lane this week after a two-year absence.

Saints coach Chris Deakin is delighted to have Lancashire back on board.

He said: “Kiel brings experience to a largely young team and hopefully some good habits after getting rid of some bad ones.

“He is really buzzing and trained with us last night. It’s a new chapter for him and I’m sure it won’t take long for him to settle in again.”

Saints could be without a host of regulars for the game. Mick Fogerty missed last Saturday’s match after hurting his groin in the warm-up, while knee injuries could sideline Mick Wallace and Greg Worrall. Forward David Best has work commitments and Dominic Igoe has a shoulder problem.

Michael Cadd and Michael Smith have been drafted into the match-day squad.

WATERHEAD'S influential centre Darren Nixon could be out for up to six weeks after dislocating a shoulder against Oulton Raiders last Saturday.
But Ash Wildman, who suffered a neck injury in the same game, may be fit for tomorrow's National Conference League Division One fixture at home to Stanley Rangers.

Coach Andy Sands expects Matt Fogarty to have recovered from a knee problem as he targets maximum points at Peach Road.

SADDLEWORTH Rangers have a day off in Division One.
