IT was tough going in the final match in the Trabucco teams of four league on a rock-hard Brighouse Canal.

One section was dry, while others yielded just a handful of fish.

Individually, Steve Mitchell (Trabucco Halifax White) scooped most of the money.

He had a bream and a few roach on long pole and caster, which together weighed in 5lb 2oz 8drams.

Runner-up Steve Harrison (Tri-Cast Calder ‘A’) was drawn next to Mitchell, and he included a 3lb bream together with a few roach for 4lb 4oz, which also fell to pole and caster.

Simon Wain (Trabucco Halifax Blue) was third with 3lb 8drams, and he was followed by Steve Allison’s 1lb 7oz and Keith Marshall (1lb 2oz).

The winning team on the day was Maver NW Red (20 points), from Tri-Cast Calder ‘A’ (17pts).

The overall league winners were Trabucco Halifax White with 84 points, followed by Trabucco Halifax Green on 73 points and Maver NW 64 on points.
