Coppice are top guns

THE only Midas Plumbing Oldham Sunday League Jack Abbott Premier Division Shield quarter-final to survive the weather saw Coppice United ‘A’ prevail 3-1 against Rifle Range ‘A’.
S Barrow, S Rashid and S Ali provided the firepower for Coppice, while N Eastmond struck for Rifle Range.
Darren Walsh was the Anglers Arms hero as he plundered a hat-trick in a 7-0 win against The Kenyon in the David Giblin Division One Shield last eight.
Also on target for Anglers were Paul Naylor, Paul Collins, Luke Jones and Lee Watmough.
Only one other game survived, and it came in Martin Buckley Division Two as The Dog drew 1-1 with Springhead Libs ‘B’ (see Match of the Day).
Steve Slack netted for The Dog, while Kieron Bland replied.
