MOSSLEY return to the battle for the Evo-Stik League Division One North play-off places tomorrow when they host Radcliffe Borough.
Following Wednesday night’s dramatic penalty shoot-out win against Salford City in the Manchester Premier Cup final, it’s now back to the bread and butter of chasing vital points for Lilywhites’ player-boss Steve Halford.
Looking ahead to the Seel Park clash against struggling Borough, Halford said: “There's eight tough games to come now, but surely the players can’t fail to have been inspired by the cup success.
“We've got a few lads who'll return to the fold, too – some of our more creative players – so the squad will be fit, healthy and raring to go for the Easter games.
“That squad will get used. It really is a crucial stage of the season, and we have to kick on now that the cup final is out of the way.”
Cup-tied trio Lee Rick, Lewis Nightingale and Chris Denham will return to the Mossley squad for the Borough clash after missing out on Wednesday.
However, defender Chris Brown limped out of the victory over Salford with an ankle injury and is a major doubt.
Halford’s men follow tomorrow’s game with a trip to New Mills on Easter Monday (3pm kick-off).
IT’S mid-table clashes galore this weekend for CHADDERTON and OLDHAM BORO in the Vodkat North-West Counties League First Division.
Tomorrow, it’s 10th versus eighth in the table as Boro travel to take on Leek CSOB.
Twelfth-placed Chadderton welcome an Atherton LR side to Andrew Street who are just a place behind them in the league table.
On Easter Monday, it’s ‘derby day’, though it possibly might not feel that way with Boro hosting Chadderton at their temporary home at Atherton Collieries’ Alder Street stadium.
That games kicks-off at 3pm. The reverse fixture in Chadderton saw Boro thump their hosts 8-2.
