LATVIA LAURELS: brother and sister Breanna and Leyton Collymore.
KICK-BOXING: Brother and sister Leyton and Breanna Collymore enjoyed success in the European K1 Open Thai-Boxing Championships in Latvia.
Representing the England team, Leyton (16) won European gold in his age group after gaining a unanimous decision in the three-round final against an Estonian opponent.
The St Cuthbert’s High School pupil was dominant throughout the fight.
Breanna — only 10 and a pupil at St Theresa’s Primary School in Derker — won the European prize in her age group with a unanimous decision following a final clash against a Latvian rival.
Proud mum Angela said: “They had a great five days over there with the England team. For them both to have returned with gold medals is pretty special.
“Lots of people continue to rave about Leyton and how talented he is, while for Breanna to get the decision against a Latvian in her own back yard was a terrific result.”
Already national and European champions, Leyton and Breanna have now begun preparations for the British K1 Thai-Boxing Championships which are set to take place in May in Birmingham.
