THE race for the Evo-Stik League Division One North play-offs couldn’t be closer, and now it’s time for cool heads.
So says Mossley player-boss Steve Halford, whose side must maintain its push for a top-five spot at mid-table Burscough tomorrow.
With Skelmersdale already pretty much guaranteed the title, the teams below them are jockeying for position — seven teams chase four play-off places.
Only a handful of points separates them, so it is essential the Lilywhites win tomorrow.
Halford said: “Thankfully a number of the top teams have still got to play one another over the final three weeks so points will be dropped, but as far as we’re concerned we just need to keep up our current momentum and hold our nerve.”
CHADDERTON travel to rock-bottom Holker OB tomorrow where they will bid to bounce back from Wednesday night’s comprehensive 4-0 home reverse at the hands of table-topping Formby.
Holker travel to Broadway for the reverse fixture next Wednesday.
Oldham Boro have no game this weekend.
