FOOTBALL: IT’S crunch time for Mossley tomorrow when they face one of their main rivals in the race for the Evo-Stik League Division One North play-offs.
It’s fourth versus fifth at Seel Park as in-form Lilywhites play Ramsbottom United. Player-boss Steve Halford fears a defeat would signal the end of the team’s promotion hopes.
“Tomorrow is massive for both sides. I reckon it’s over for whoever loses,” said Halford.
“The lads have been in great form of late and they couldn’t have given me any more, but we just can’t afford to slip up this weekend.”
With Skelmersdale champions-elect, the next seven teams are frantically chasing four coveted play-off spots.
IN the Vodkat North-West Counties League First Division, CHADDERTON will be looking to build on Wednesday’s morale-boosting victory against Holker Old Boys when they travel to mid-table Nelson.
The Broadway outfit will be depleted at the back. Defenders Ben Greenidge (ankle injury), Ben Fletcher (work) and Keith Melvin (work) are unavailable.
OLDHAM BORO get back to action following a fortnight of inactivity with a home game against seventh-placed Cheadle Town.
