THE wet weather intervened in the vast majority of the Lake Garage Central Lancashire League's second round of fixtures yesterday.
But reduced targets meant most produced results - and Werneth made it two wins out of two.
Following a three-wicket success at Radcliffe, the Coppice side prevailed by seven wickets in their Oldham derby clash at Crompton.
Winning the toss and batting first, Crompton dodged the showers before reaching 114 all out as Stephen Wright top-scored with 33.
The visitors were set a reduced target of 70 off 22 overs to win, and sailed home after losing just three wickets.
Oldham were beaten convincingly at home by Monton and Weaste.
Oldham batted first to make 103 all out, with Monton professional Paul Green doing most of the damage with four for 22.
Monton's reduced target of 77 was reached for the loss of one wicket, with John Monaghan making 52 not out.
Royton, following their opening-day derby victory against Oldham, struggled at Unsworth.
Batting first, Royton could only make 91 all out as Unsworth pro Chris Williams returned a terrific seven wickets for 38.
Chasing a revised 78, Unsworth cruised home for the loss of a couple of wickets.
In the CLL Premier Division, Milnrow were out of luck as rain fell when they were poised on 93 for seven, chasing a revised 105 at Heywood.
Middleton prevailed at Norden, reaching a revised 127 for nine after the hosts racked up 228 for nine.
Oliver Makin scored 73 and took six for 63 for unlucky Norden.
Rochdale sailed to a four-wicket win against Clifton, who were skittled out for just 49. Scott Butterworth returned excellent bowling figures of five for 21.
